We invite submissions for our workshop "Alpine Texts as Language Data. Corpus- and Discourse-Linguistic Explorations," which will take place as part of the International Mountain Conference (IMC) in Innsbruck from September 14 to 18, 2025.

The IMC is the largest conference dedicated to [email protected] research, bringing together around 1,000 participants from various disciplines. gerhInitially focused on the natural sciences, the conference has evolved into an interdisciplinary platform exploring all aspects of mountain research, under the motto Synthesize Knowledge of Mountains. Our workshop aims to contribute to this dialogue by examining alpine texts from a (digital) humanities perspective, using corpus- and discourse-linguistic methodologies.

We invite contributions from all areas of digital humanities, from linguistics, discourse studies, literary and cultural studies, media studies and related disciplines that engage with mountain and mountaineering texts in a way relevant to the overall theme of the session.
