Minimum Education Level: PhD students, Postdoctoral Researchers etc.

Special Qualifications: For PhD students: A strong academic background in linguistics, cognitive science, neuroscience, computer science, psychology, artificial intelligence, or related fields, with a focus on language and communication research.

For Postdoctoral researchers: A completed PhD in linguistics, neuroscience, cognitive science, computer science, or related fields, with research interests aligning with language processing, language development, computational modelling, or neurocognitive mechanisms of language.

For Academics or professionals: Prior research experience or professional work in the interdisciplinary fields of linguistics, neuroscience, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or cognitive science.

For Master’s students (exceptional cases): A solid academic foundation in linguistics, psychology, neuroscience, or a related field, with demonstrable interest or prior research experience in the study of language, cognition, or brain science.

This unique blend of linguistics, neuroscience, computational modeling, and statistics provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of how language, communication, and the brain interact.

We are excited to announce that applications are now open for the 8th edition of the ILCB Summer School, happening from September 1st to 5th, 2025, at the Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques (CIRM), nestled near Marseille’s Parc National des Calanques.

This summer school offers an interdisciplinary approach to the study of Language, Communication, and the Brain, bringing together experts from linguistics, psychology, neuroscience, mathematics, and computer science. Whether you're a PhD, Postdoc, or an exceptional Master's student, you'll have the opportunity to dive deep into cutting-edge research through:
- Language Processing (theories, cognition, development, pathologies)
- Neuroscience & Neural Basis of Language
- Computational Modelling & Machine Learning
- Statistics for language research

Throughout the week, you'll engage in five-day in-depth courses, attend single-session presentations, and experience two keynote talks by renowned international experts.

Tuition: 250 euros
Tuition Explanation: The registration fee for the summer school is €250. Participants are also responsible for covering their travel expenses.

whether it has been accepted, waitlisted, or declined.

Once your application has been accepted, you will be able to confirm your participation and register for classes via the CIRM
website. Further details will be provided in the acceptance email to facilitate your registration.
