Meeting Description:
The Quebec Conference on Language Learning and Teaching (QLLT 2023) hosted by Teluq University, will take place in person in picturesque Quebec City on 17-18 August 2023. The languages of this international conference are English and French.
QLLT aims to bring together researchers from around the world who are interested in the acquisition of second languages as well as the teaching methods and linguistic conditions that are conducive to acquisition.
2nd Call for Papers:
Since Teluq University celebrates a half-century of distance learning, the main theme of the conference is the challenges posed on language learning and teaching by the recent obligation for many colleagues to switch to or incorporate the online mode in their teaching, and the most recent teaching tools at our disposal.
In addition to online language learning and teaching issues, we encourage papers related to the learning/teaching of languages in minority settings, issues in language policy and planning, as well as bilingual language development, given their relevance for the conference venue, located in the 415-year-old city that is the cradle of French in America.
We also encourage submissions related to SLA and L2 teaching from various fields and approaches, which include but are not limited to:
- Second language acquisition;
- L2 pedagogy;
- Applied linguistics;
- Psycholinguistics;
- Cognitive linguistics;
- Education;
- Computational linguistics;
- Corpus linguistics;
- Bilingualism;
- Sociolinguistics.
We invite abstracts of up to 400 words (excluding references, tables, and figures) in English or French, containing a clear research question, methodology and (provisional) results. Presentations should last 20 minutes, with a 10-minute period for questions.
Important dates:
- Deadline for submissions: 30 April 2023
- Notification of acceptance: 10 May 2023
- Conference: 17-18 August 2023
