Meeting Description:

The symposium is dedicated to Chinese dialects and Chinese history, with a focus on the historical evolution of Chinese grammar from the perspective of language contact and dialect studies in Northern China.

Call for Papers:

The Third Symposium on “Language Contact in Northern China and the Historical Evolution of Chinese” 2023 (ParisLCNC3) organized by the Centre de recherches linguistiques sur l’Asie orientale of the Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS School of Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences) will be held on December 14-16, 2023, in hybrid mode: online and on-site at Centre de colloques, Campus Condorcet, 1 place du Front Populaire, 93322 Aubervilliers France.

Abstracts are invited on all subjects in the domain Chinese dialects and Chinese history, with a focus on the historical evolution of Chinese grammar from the perspective of language contact and dialect studies in Northern China.

Abstracts should be anonymous, not exceed 1 page (12pt Roman, including examples and references) and be submitted in pdf-format to the following address: [email protected]

Deadline for submission: 08/10/2023 (midnight, Paris time)

Notification of acceptance: 15/10/2023

“中国北方地区语言接触与汉语历史演变”第三次研讨会 (ParisLCNC3) 拟于2023年2023年12月14-16日在巴黎高等社会科学院东亚语言研究所（EHESS-CRLAO）举行，采用线上（法国境外）线下（法国境内）两方式进行。本次研讨会是在法国研究机构（ANR）资助的研究项目 “Language contact in Northern China - Historical and Typological perspectives” (LCNC) 的框架内组织的。

欢迎就汉语方言和汉语历史领域的所有主题提交摘要，重点关注从中国北方的语言接触和方言研究角度看汉语语法的历史演变。
